  • California Restaurant Association: County Shelter in Place Requirements Starting Tomorrow

    Dear Bay Area Restaurants,
     
    We are writing to alert you to the specifics of the updated Bay Area “Shelter in Place” orders, with specific attention to your restaurant operations and information about employer posting requirements that must be in place by tomorrow.
     
    Documents meant to help you with quick action to respond to the County orders are provided by link in the 2nd bullet point under each County and the City of Berkeley.

    • Social distancing requirements are mandatory.
    • Before Friday, April 3, 2020, essential businesses that continue to operate facilities in the County must complete, post, and implement a social distancing protocol for each facility that remains open, using the template here.
    • Essential businesses must maximize the number of employees who work from home, excepting only those employees who cannot perform their job duties from home.
    • Essential businesses that continue to operate facilities in the County must scale down operations to their essential component only.
    • Order in effect on March 17, 2020 through May 3, 2020.
