Green Business University

A 6-month training course targeted to small and mid sized businesses to assist them through a step by step process in preparation of getting Bay Area Green Business certification. Each class will focus on a specific aspect of the certification process such as Pollution Prevention, Water Conservation, Energy Conservation and Solid Waste Reduction. The Chamber of Commerce Mountain View is a certified Bay Area Green Business. Steps our Chamber took to become more sustainable:

-Installed high efficiency toilets
-Installed water efficient faucet aerators
-Turn off office equipments and all lights when leaving for the day
-Utilize natural light in cubicles and common areas
-Use window shades on warm, sunny days to minimize AC usag
-Purchase copier/printer paper that contains 30% post-consumer waste
-Discourage/limit the printing of emails
-Eliminated the printing of agenda packets for Board meetings
-Recycle plastics, metal cans, glass bottles, containers and cardboard
-Practice efficient printing and copying by using the double side copying feature
-Replaced T-12 fluorescent lighting with energy-efficient T-8 lights
-Created the Green Business University program for local businesses
