• Scholarship Mountain View

Save the Date: We are very excited to announce the first ever Scholarship Mountain View Fundraising dinner Thursday, November 16th, 2017.

Our big audacious goal for the 2018 scholarship round is to raise $200,000 with a vision to make this a 4 year scholarship program. This goal is in response to the following question: What happens if our scholarship students complete their first year and then don’t have the money to continue their education? Then we haven't gotten them far enough.

Our goal of $200,000 for 2018 will enable MVCOCEF to give 10 Mountain View resident High School seniors, $5,000 each year for 4 years.

Our target applicants have the following in common:

    • First in their families to attend college: many of these students participate in the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program, which is dedicated to closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other postsecondary opportunities
    • Service: Applicants participate in projects and activities outside the realm of work and formal education or shows a willingness to serve his or her school, friends, family or community
    • Goals & Objectives: Applicants demonstrate that they are developing a sense of purpose in their present life and for the future by setting goals and objectives focused on a career path
    • Financial Need: While not a major factor, financial need is considered in deciding between two equally qualified applicants

Will you join with us as we grow this scholarship program to a 4 year program and have an even greater impact on our local High School students’ futures?
