Join Peninsula Open Space Trust on a bike ride around POST-protected lands on the San Mateo Coast! This beautiful ride will pass through a wide variety of landscapes that make up the 6,391-acre "Cloverdale Coastal Ranches" property, which is protected and available for least to farmers and ranchers through the efforts of POST. The Ride will take you past redwood forests, rolling grasslands, coastal bluffs, and working row crop fields and rangelands. The 17-mile route is completely paved and consists mostly of gentle rolling hills. There will be a five-mile stretch along Highway 1, followed by a modest 250-foot elevation gain over 1.5 miles as we head inland. Our tour departs at 10 am and will take 2 to 2.5 hours. Over the course of the tour, we will make a few stops to learn about the history of the land, take in the views of the Pacific. In addition to your bike and helmet, please bring water, sunscreen, and snacks. After you RSVP, we'll send you our exact meeting place. We hope to see you there!
