C.A.L.M. (Cultivating Awareness to Live Mindfully)
Now more than ever, our children need help focusing their attention, staying calm and working with strong emotions in all areas of their life.  Mindfulness provides us with tools that help us slow down, be present, and respond more thoughtfully.  Come join us and learn the basics of mindfulness, how it is beneficial in everyday life and how it can be applied in athletics, academics and the workplace.  This will be a fun, interactive workshop that will provide participants with tips and tools to begin using right away!

Sarah Newman is an elementary school teacher in Palo Alto, CA and the founder of The Mindful Kids.  The Mindful Kids is an organization dedicated to providing kids, teens and adults with mindfulness skills and practices that help them live life with more calm, clarity and connection.  Having experienced mindfulness and all its benefits first hand, Sarah saw the broad need for it in our increasingly stressful, busy and distracted world.  Sarah leveraged her extensive personal and professional training in different areas of mindfulness and teaching to create a unique mindfulness program, C.A.L.M.  (Cultivating Awareness to Live Mindfully).  Sarah offers her C.A.L.M. program through the Palo Alto Unified School District and Palo Alto Medical Foundation for students and teachers as well as privately thru The Mindful Kids.
