This Earth Day, we hope you are inspired to take action to live more sustainably. These actions can result in improved health, long-term financial savings, and increased quality of life, but it can be hard to know where to start and what’s most effective for you. Our goal is to help make every day Earth Day for you, and help you get the information you need to make long-lasting changes you can easily implement. Learn from experts and fellow community members to help you make the best decisions. Our Earth Day event will include: ? Complimentary lunch, and great raffle PRIZES throughout the event! ? A panel on meat and the future of food from the Factory Farming Awareness Coalition, Institute for the Future, and Hidden Villa Farm, with some tasty samples. ? Stanford’s 90-minute electric vehicle (EV) class, followed by opportunities for rides in EVs. (Registration is required for this event.) ? A panel on the impact of plastics on our oceans—and the deep link to climate change we never hear about. ? An art workshop for kids: meet Bogo Mogo, the plastic monster turning marine life into plastic zombies. Create your very own Bogo Mogo from the plastic we use every day—and save our oceans! (Registration is required for this event.) ? A talk on the benefits of heat pump water heaters, and the process of installing one. ? A Resource Fair to learn about City initiatives and talk with community members who have taken actions you might be interested in, including home electrification, electric vehicle purchasing and charger installation, solar installation, reducing meat consumption and adopting healthier eating, reducing waste, and improving water conservation. In the spirit of Earth Day, this will be a zero waste event (as best as we can). To support our efforts, we encourage you to walk, bike, or carpool to this event, and to bring your reusable mug and utensils.
